I took her to the roller rink by our house today for "toddler skate" which was NUTS!!! It's only open for younger kids and you can skate or bring some type of ride on toy like a trike, scooter, push toy etc. Avery rode her plasma car and I did laps around the rink pushing Cate in the stroller.

Toddler Sanity
Before I start telling you what Avery has been up to, I have to preface this by saying that most days we are at home going stir crazy and don't go anywhere all day long. So these activities are rare and special treats these days:) She's to a point now where she'll say she doesn't want to go anywhere or do anything when I throw out a suggestion and this is when I know that I have to get her out of the house.

I like to read toddler activity/montessori blogs for some good ideas to keep Avery busy and entertained while at home. I found the idea to make "goop" which is just cornstarch, water and food coloring. Avery loved it and played in it for about an hour. I gave her some measuring cups and a whisk and she was in heaven. It was a huge mess to clean up though. But it bought me an hour of no tv!
And of course we do arts and crafts on a daily basis...lots of painting and stickers, pom poms and pipe cleaners. We're running out of entertaining crafts to do so it's about time to hit up the teacher supply store for some new activities. She loves her art and crafts but gets bored easily.
I know she wont remember these days of WAY too much television, but it's been a big struggle for me as her mom. I want her to continue to thrive and excel and I don't have the time or energy to keep up with her smart little brain. I can't wait for school to start back up so she has that interaction she needs. Of course I would love a little break too, but her growth is most important to me.
