Motherhood x2

We've had a busy few days now that I'm home alone with both girls. Showers have become a luxury as well as any private, quiet moments for myself. Things are very hectic, busy and chaotic and I'm looking forward to getting our routine down. I took Cate in for her first pediatrician appointment on Tuesday. They gave her a clean bill of health although I had several concerns about how fussy and uncomfortable she has been. She weighed in at 8 lbs 6 oz, up 3 oz from birth. She also measured 20 3/4 inches long which means they totally measured her wrong in the hospital. But the doctor said everything I was concerned about was normal newborn things that would work themselves out. I'm giving it until 4-6 weeks old and than I'm demanding another look at things or I'm taking her to a different pediatrician. My mother's intuition is telling me that she is suffering from reflux. But oh my is she cute--even though she cries most of the day:)Avery loves her sister even though it's been a transition for everyone. She is not overly hovering but definitely interested in Cate. She always asks for Cate to come with us when we are getting ready to go somewhere. Like we would leave Cate behind:)Avery was very interested in Cate's little handsShe was laughing at Cate when she would flop to one side Cate is enjoying her baths more and more and I hope her cord falls off soon so she can take a real bath. I gave her one yesterday afternoon in hopes that it would calm her down and make her comfortable. No such luck in the long run but she was enjoying the bath. Don't get me wrong- life with two kids is great and I love both my girls. But it's been a major adjustment and Cate is not an easy baby at all. Avery is doing great but has had to adjust with less attention from both Mark and I. In all the stress and change, I remind myself that God blessed me immensely with both of these children and that there is a season to everything.
