Happy Birthday America!
First of all, this might be my last post for awhile because Mark goes back to work tomorrow:( Luckily I have my mother in law down the road to help out and my mom is coming back on Thursday to help out for a few days. We have had a nice, low key 4th of July and the only thing I really missed doing was seeing fireworks. But it was way to late, too hot and too many mosquitoes for our littles.
My little firecrackers and me--this is life now. A toddler that doesn't sit still and cooperate and a fussy/colicky baby. But I wouldn't have it any other way!

I took Avery to our neighborhood parade this morning so we could get out of the house. I am not a homebody at all so staying at home so much with a newborn and this heat makes me a little crazy. We will take any opportunity to get out of the house- even just for a little while.

After naps, feedings, packing the diaper bag and getting out the door, we went over to Nana and Pops house for a yummy 4th of July dinner. It was nice to relax and be with family. And it's nice to let Avery run wild and have more than just Mark or I to entertain her. We had a great day as a family and I've enjoyed the last week of having ALL of us together all day. Oh how I wish we were independently wealthy and Mark didn't have to work. Alas, that is not the case.
Tomorrow morning is Cate's first appointment with the pediatrician. She saw Cate in the hospital but this is our one week follow up. I'm curious to see how much she weighs because this girl loves her food. There are also several things I am anxious to talk with the doctor about. I will try to update with report on Cate. I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday weekend!

So sorry baby Cate is colicky!! Watch for reflux! Clara had it and with a bit of Zantac, I had a new baby! Before that, I rarely slept for more than 3 hours and Clara would scream for 2 before finally settling down. Ahhhh! Zantac...
