Our week & 17 months old

We really have not had much going on this week at all but I have so many pictures to upload that I felt I needed to blog! And for a special treat, enjoy the two videos at the end of all the pictures. Avery Grace is 17 months old today...I feel like the tiny little baby I brought home from the hospital is LONG gone! She is a full blown toddler and she is learning so much every day. We've been doing art time and Avery loves to color...and eat the crayons. Hopefully one of the things she is learning is that crayons don't taste very good:)

Earlier this week Avery and I got to watch this sweet little muffin. Lindsay had a doctor appointment so James Thomas came over to play. This is where the "full blown toddler" comes into play. Not 2 minutes after Lindsay left, Avery dropped a toy on JT (on accident) and gave him this lovely black eye. She was running around like crazy and sweet James Thomas sat and watched her in awe. She would take toys away from him kept throwing stuff. She might have had a touch of jealousy too.

Don't get me wrong...she LOVES James Thomas!!! I captured this sweet picture of Avery giving James Thomas a hug. We enjoyed our morning with him and Lindsay returned the favor and watched Avery yesterday morning for me while I went to the doctor. I love having our great friends just down the street.

Every day Avery is learning something new. Her vocabulary has taken off and she has tripled the amount of words she can say in just the last month or so. She can point to many body parts when asked and she can say many of them too (see the video below). She now says "mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy..." all day long and it is the most beautiful thing to hear. I love hearing my name! I'm beginning to give her a spoon/fork during meals to get her accustomed to using them. We have a long way to go!

And if you know her well you know how obsessed Avery is with doggies! We have a coffee table book with puppies...think Anne Geddes meets dogs. Avery constantly asks to read it. Allow me to translate- "Doggie, doggie, re, re doggie, re". And then she laughs hysterically as the pages turn. This girl adores dogs more than anything! She loves all animals and can now identify cows, ducks, dogs, cats, butterflies etc. Some of the names she can say but not all of them.

Enough rambling...enjoy the movies. She is a ham and pictures don't do her personality justice. You have to see her in action!!! They are a bit long but totally worth it- at least we think so and I'm sure the grandparents do too:)
