Giddy Up!

Today we went to the Houston Rodeo for a fun family outing. I've only been once and it wasn't even to the rodeo but for the cook-off which is right before the rodeo starts so it was a first for me too. It was a beautiful Texas day with bright blue skies and we had a great time. Avery did so well and really loved seeing all the animals.

Of course she enjoyed being able to pet all the animals or "dogs" as she calls ALL of them in the petting zoo. Her favorite was the chickens which they had fenced off so she couldn't really pet them which of course aggravated her! This is my new favorite picture...love it!Avery and I went on the "Dumbo" ride and she had so much fun. It went pretty high in the air and she sat so still the entire ride and smiled and laughed at Daddy every time we passed him. I was in heaven seeing how much fun she was having. I loved the baby stage but having a big girl is so neat when you get to see the joy through her eyes.

By this time, Avery was ready for some lunch...what else do you eat at the Rodeo?!?! A whole lot of junk food. She had chicken fingers and mac'n'cheese- so healthy. We decided to forgo the funnel cake and fried food on a stick. We had one tired little girl once we got in the car and now she's laying in her crib NOT napping. That should make for an interesting afternoon. But we had a great time and can't wait for next year!!!
