This morning I decided to finally cut Avery's fingernails while she was contently relaxing in her bouncy seat. In the past, I had filed them down because I was so afraid of cutting her skin. I'm sure other moms out there can agree that cutting your tiny newborns nails is a little intimidating. Anyway, they've grown out long enough that I finally felt comfortable clipping them. I made it all the way until the second to last fingernail and of course I snipped her skin instead of the nail. The face Avery made was one that I really never want to see again, but know that I will. She was crying so sadly and deeply that I started to cry...we sat there as I held her and cried together. Mark was laughing at me but it made me so upset that I caused her pain! Needless to say, I filed the last fingernail and put the clippers away...
I bet this was my test before I take her to her two month appointment at the end of the month. She'll be receiving her first round of vaccinations and I'm not looking forward to seeing that face again:(

GIRL! NOT WORRIES! John has done it TWICE!! I have taken the clippers away from them both! And I use nail scissors!! Don’t feel bad! I am the WORST when he was 3 days old I had to take off the gauze off his peepee and I made him bleed and cry so hard...All I could do was cry and say I am so SORRY I hurt your penis! It was terrible and the shots are the WORST!!! They need them but at the time I was kinda ok with him having polio (jk) make sure you give her some baby Tylenol before the shots and every 4 hours after....if you r ok giving her meds...AND James slept ALL day and did not eat much BOTH rounds of shots! Call me if you have any questions! xoxox Sorry this is so long
Oh girl Ive cut all the kids atleast twice. Not a big deal they heal. Kit was the one who cried. Give her tylenol, and let her nurse on her bottle while she is getting her shots, nursing calms them down. Maybe she'll be like Brycen and cry for a second till you calm her down.
