Today has been such a big day for us though. I started today off with the intention of getting Avery on a schedule. I've read and re-read the book "Babywise" and I'm really hoping it will work. The concept of the book is getting the child on a routine that will encourage sleeping through the night at an early age (normally around 10-12 weeks). The book basically follows a schedule of feed-wake time-nap and it's all up to the parent to follow this schedule until she falls into it on her own. Hence all the pictures of awake playtime today...
Avery was introduced to her activity gym and she really liked it. She hasn't been a big fan of being put down for a nap while she's awake and being put in her crib to go to sleep for nap time. She's had several meltdowns today when it's time to go down for a nap. But she eventually calms down and falls asleep. And to top this big day off, Avery lost her nasty umbilical cord...FINALLY! She has the cutest little belly b!

Okay momma time to take off the mittens and cut that girlys fingernails!! She's gotta find her hands!! :) Love ya'll. Ive got Christmas presents for ya'll.
Stick with the "Baby Wise". It can take about 4 weeks to get on a schedule. I logged all of Ian's feedings and everything. I almost threw the book out, but realized when I looked at the log that he was getting on a schedule. Hang in there! Ian slept through the night at 8 1/2 weeks! You can do it!!!!
I put the mittens on her b/c her hands were so cold! They are off most of the time:)
