Our sweet pumpkin is three months old today! Time is sure flying by but these last couple of weeks have been crazy. Sweet Cate has been having a rough time again with her feedings and some gastrointestinal issues. We saw the pediatric GI at Texas Children's last Tuesday and he has put in an order for a swallow study. Then the rest of the week went down hill. Long story short, we ended up in our pediatrician's office (who I LOVE) trying to come up with a new game plan. He put her on a medication for possible reflux, told us to give her
malox up to 4 times a day and to thicken her bottles with some rice cereal. These things seem to help. Cate did have a horrible spell of screaming in pain for almost an hour tonight. I was about to pack her up and head to the hospital it was so bad. I just want my sweet little girl to be 100%. We're also going to have an upper GI test done along with the swallow test. Of course all of this takes time and scheduling so we're fighting time.
Overall, Cate is doing wonderfully despite these issues. She's still growing great. She was 13 lbs 13 ounces on Friday which is excellent. She's smiling, cooing, eating her hands constantly and starting to laugh a bit. She has learned to just go with the flow being #2 which isn't too hard for her since she's not a fan of naps anyway. She is the sweetest thing with a killer smile and I can only imagine how much of a personality she'll have once she's feeling great.
She is amazed with her big sister and finds her extremely captivating. If Avery would stand still for more than 10 seconds, Cate would be in heaven. She loves watching Avery! She is starting to grasp toys and really be able to play with some things. Bath time is more fun for her and she's almost always content watching football in Daddy's lap:) We tried the
exersaucer this week and she did okay in it. She's probably still too young to enjoy it but she did like being upright so she could see everything going on.
Oh how we love this little beautiful little girl!!! She is so much fun and worth all the craziness:) My heart breaks to see her hurting but I trust that we will find a way to make her happy and comfortable. Happy 3 months sweet Cate!
