Hill Country Hyatt
We just got home from an amazing weekend with Nana and Pops (Mark's mom and dad)! We went to the Hill Country Hyatt and if you have children and you haven't been before, you absolutely must go! Mark and I actually went on our "Babymoon" to the HCH about two months before Avery was born and we talked the entire time about how fun it would be to come back and bring her with. Well she knew we were headed out of town on a trip and she was ready to go...

We got there right about dinner time so we ate and then went swimming at what normally would be bedtime! But bedtimes go out the window when on vacation:)
Avery slept pretty well in the same hotel room with us...I was a little nervous but she did fine. By the second night she had figured it out and knew to call out to us and that would buy her a trip into the big bed. She enjoyed watching her morning cartoons in the luxurious king sized bed
The HCH has a lazy river that goes around the entire property and there are certain stopping points where you can get in and out. The most popular place was the sudo beach which required an early morning stake out. You have to get there before 9 am in order to get a prime piece of beach property.

But the other favorite spot was the baby pool. It was a gradual decent into the water and Avery loved running in and out of the pool on her own. It was actually her first time in a baby pool and I'll admit that the freedom was some what relaxing. Of course we still watched her like a hawk to make sure she didn't go under but she was always touching on the bottom and it was perfect for her!

On Friday night we got all dressed up and had a delicious dinner at the resort's fancy restaurant. Avery did great, tried food that most adults haven't had non less toddlers and was an angel considering how wiped out she was.
I love this picture of our family too much not to put it out there for all to see...but I will be disposing of this dress after our vacation. It takes a picture to realize that something looks bad on you sometimes. I look pregnant in all these pictures- wish someone would have pointed that out to me! I don't know how you would nicely tell someone that though:)
I cropped what I could of myself to make this somewhat of a good picture- everyone else looks spiffy...and even a little matchy-matchy which wasn't planned. So of course I had to put this one up too!
The rest of our time was spent lounging by the pool and floating the river. It was all very relaxing and we had such a perfect time together. Avery really enjoyed herself and we will be going back for sure. It's a great place for families- and even in the dead of summer, it was crowded but not too crowded.

On our last night we went over to the Thompsons (Mark's aunt and uncle) for dinner. Avery loves Andrew, Mark's cousin and he knew the way to her heart...look at pictures of doggies on a cell phone. I'm sure my Mom is laughing at this right now! We had another yummy dinner and a great time visiting with everyone.
