Looks Alot Like Christmas

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Why you ask? Let's just say that my yard sign worked this year...finally!
That's right folks- it snowed in Houston! And it snowed HARD for several hours leaving us with this breathtaking sight:) I love snow, I really do! I think it's the Yankee blood in me. I was having some flashbacks today from my childhood of sledding and building snowmen. But alas, we have no hills in Houston so there was no sledding today. It's looking a lot like Christmas inside too! I've finally finished putting our decorations up after a leisurely go at it. I've been doing a little here and there over the last week or so and I am tapped out. Here is the final product... This is by far my favorite ornament! We all have our favorites and then the ones that just exist and are great for filling holes on the back of the tree. I bought this about a month before I had Avery last year and it was so ridiculously expensive but so perfect. It gets a front-and-center spot now and for every year to come:)Our stockings have been hung with care in hopes that little fingers don't pull them down thus the heavy holders will come crashing onto her head!!! I love my Willowtree nativity set! My mother-in-law bought my first piece to get me started and I have a complete set now after a few years. I think it's so simple and classy, yet beautiful. Our card holder...we've already received some cards as you can see! I love getting Christmas cards but we wont be sending any this year. I have run out of time and they are just so expensive anyway. We'll do them next year!I normally have willow balls or potpourri in this tray on our dining room table but I filled it with votives surrounded by glass beads and jingle bells to make it feel more holiday-ish. Our advent calender looks so similar to the one that my mom has...I found it a few years ago and about fell over when I saw the resemblance. Avery and I pull out the surprise together every morning.
I found these iron trees at Tuesday Morning for around $12 total and had planned on using them inside somewhere. But I couldn't find a good place for them so they are out front next to our new holiday doormat.
It's supposed to be very, very cold tonight so Avery is nestled in her bed with who knows what dancing through her head. And our plants are nestled in too so they don't freeze to death in this crazy weather!!! Avery didn't get to go out in the snow today because she's been a little sick and we didn't want to make her any sicker. But there's always next year, right?!?!
