Mommy's Helper

Avery is VERY into "helping" me during the day...actually, it's more like she's clinging to my leg while I'm trying to get stuff done so naturally she gets into whatever I'm doing. For example, her new favorite thing-that-she-shouldn't-play-with is the dishwasher. I was loading it the other day and, with her baby doll in hand, she helped me put the dishes into the dishwasher. Here is what happened next:

Step 1: Load the dishes
Step 2: Decide that baby doll needs a washing too
Step 3: Arrange baby in the best position for prime cleaning
Step 4: Look really cute while showing Mom your bright idea!
This cycle of "helping" continued as we moved onto laundry. She helped me drag the huge basket of dirty clothes down the hall but was not liking the scrapping sound it make against the tile. So our entire trip down the hallway was with much crying. But she sorted out the clothes for me...
...and left her baby in a safe place while she transferred clothes to the floor!
But the baby fell out of the basket on our way to the laundry room...notice the baby in the background and that Avery could care less:)
And of course all laundry needs to be tasted before washed! I enjoy all the help Avery gives me and can't wait for her to take over these chores really soon and do them all by herself:)
