Mommyhood is tiring...

I always knew that being a mommy would be tough and challenging at times and especially tiring. But I never knew that my physical exhaustion would stem from the amount of energy my daughter has. I had always assumed that it would be from lack of sleep...but Avery's a great sleeper most of the time. I am constantly on my toes as she is into EVERYTHING. Toys are a thing of the past, maybe she's bored with them. All she wants to do is take laps around the house, with an occasional stop at something she shouldn't play with like the oven or the electrical socket or the a/c vents. I see this little booty more than I see her face because I'm always chasing her...
... so she doesn't get into things she shouldn't get into!
Avery now has a new obsession and I can hardly blame her. She is in love with purses...or bags, whichever she can find. She has been carrying this purse around all week and she loves it more than any of the thousands of toys laying a few feet away!
It makes her very happy!!!!!
But she refuses to share it with anyone...even Lily! Don't try to take it from her or she'll get very upset.
She is also a fan of bubbles...eating them. I'm sure the menthol bubble bath that we've been using for her runny nose is great on her digestive system. Also, notice the lovely bruise on the left side of her forehead (our left side). She face-planted into the tile the other day and than a few hours later flew into the back door and hit the same spot. She even gave herself a mini black eye because of it. What a mess!
And her other new obsession...the vacuum cleaner. She squeals with delight when I pull it out and she holds the cord for me while I vacuum around the house. She is trying to "help" Mommy and I am secretly thrilled that she loves the vacuum so much. Maybe we can start giving her chores earlier than we thought:)
Here is our crazy girl leaning into her toy basket for a *GASP* toy! She actually does still play with her toys, but mostly just selects a special one and carries it around the house while doing her laps. Her little feet came off the ground as she dug to the bottom of the basket!
And just so I can have it on record since I certainly did not get a picture of it, Avery finally has her 1st tooth coming in. We noticed it yesterday and today it started breaking through the skin. Knock on wood...but it hasn't really bothered her all that much yet. I know I am jinxing myself by saying this, but she's still eating and sleeping like normal. She's just a fountain of snot and drool...but she's my little snotty drool monster and I love everyday tiring day with her!!!!!!
