One year ago...

Exactly one year ago today, I found out I was pregnant. I remember that it was March 31st because it was the day before April Fools Day and I was afraid if I didn't tell everyone on the 31st that no one would believe me the next day. I hadn't even had a thought I was pregnant until I was talking to my boss about "woman things". I mentioned that some things felt different (I'm trying to keep this PG) and then I realized I was a few days late. Celeste, my boss, wanted me to leave work and go buy a pregnancy test. She hounded me for a few hours before I finally went to buy one. I came back to work, took the test and before I could even zip my pants up it showed that it was positive. I will never forget that feeling!!! Mark kind of knew that something was up because I was talking to him on his lunch break and I was telling him how Celeste was being silly and was making me buy a test. But I couldn't just tell Mark over the phone so I was going to wait until that night when we both got home from work. But I called my mom, my dad and my sister because I couldn't NOT tell somebody! That day happened to be the Opening Day for the Astros (my husband is a HUGE Astros fan) so on the way home from work I ran by Academy Sports & Outdoors and bought a set of Astros onesies. I raced home so I would beat him, wrapped the onesies with the pregnancy test and gave it to him when he got home. Again, he knew something was up because I dodged his phone calls on the way home and the first thing out of his mouth when he walked in the door was "Well what did the test say". I handed him his gift and said "Happy Opening Day". He opened it and said "Really" and of course we were both so happy and excited and scared all at the same time! We both were wanting a baby so bad and I was so excited to finally become a mommy!

On a funny side note, my boss Celeste found out she was also pregnant the next week! Her little girl Caroline is 8 days younger than Avery!!!
