Dallas Vacation
We had a true vacation in Dallas earlier this month! For Christmas, my parents gave us a gift card to Great Wolf Lodge so we could spend a night there with Avery. We went on a Thursday night and it was so much fun! If you're not familiar with Great Wolf Lodge, let me tell you a little bit about it. It's an amazing, family oriented resort with a huge indoor water park. I've heard about it for awhile now and have always wanted to take Avery since she is such a little fish. So my parents kept a very sick Cate while we went to play. This place is amazing...they have thought of everything. We had a blast and I think we're going to have to make this a yearly thing. I'm sure Cate would enjoy splashing by next year.

The rooms have a cabin/lodge theme and Avery had her own little nook with bunk beds. It's painted to look like the woods and she LOVED her cool bunk bed. She and Daddy sat on the top and watched tv (yes, there is a wall mounted flat screen inside the bunk area) while I got ready for dinner that night. They had an arcade, a sweet shoppe with ice cream, candy, cake etc, an arts and craft area, Pizza Hut, pajama story time in the lobby with a fun show and so much more. They have literally thought of everything!

We got there around 1 which is nap time, but we skipped that obviously. After checking in and scoping everything out, we got changed and went to swim and play. We swam for several hours, then went back to our room to shower and get cleaned up for dinner. On our way to dinner, we stopped to play some games (think Chuck E Cheese). We had a yummy dinner, got ice cream, changed into our pajamas and went to the lobby for the bedtime story show. We all crashed hard by 8:45. Then we got up the next morning, ate some breakfast and went to swim some more.

After checking out, we went back to Grammie and Grandpa's house (it's about 20 minutes away) and detoxed for the rest of the day. Poor Cate was pretty sick...again...and had an ear infection...again...but G & G say she was a good girl:) Grammie made reservations for lunch on Saturday at the American Girl Store, so she, Avery and I went. Avery has Bitty Baby, aka "Baby Lucy", so she came too. Oh my word! This was probably more fun for me then for Avery. Although she loved it too. I LOVE American Girl and can not wait for her to be old enough for one of the dolls. She loved all the accessories that they had for the dolls, like the camp out site with a tent and campfire etc. She loved it all! And she left with some major loot for Baby Lucy! Thanks Grammie for such a fun memory! It will be that much more fun with two little girls next time:)

We always have fun when we go to Dallas for a visit, but this truly felt like a vacation with all the special experiences we had. We feel so blessed to have all four grandparents close enough to see frequently and do fun things with!
