James Thomas' 1st Birthday!

Yesterday we headed out to Galveston to celebrate our sweet friend James Thomas' 1st birthday. Lindsay and James rented an awesome house right on the beach and invited lots of friends and family to come celebrate. We had a blast and Lindsay thought of everything. The decorations were adorable and the setting was perfect for a relaxing celebration. People came and went as they wanted and we stayed all afternoon.

Avery did great for her first beach experience. She enjoyed the sand and really liked the ocean and waves after taking awhile to warm up to it. A wave threw her off balance and she went face first into the water. But after some comfort from Daddy she was ready to play. She actually enjoyed playing in the baby pool that was set up just steps from the ocean the most. It was so fun to watch her play and interact with all her friends. She was particularly fond of playing with Hannah!

She did great all day and started getting a crabby around 4. I can't blame her since she didn't have a nap but had a lot of sugar instead. She passed out 5 minutes after we left and slept hard. I think it's safe to say that she enjoyed the beach! Happy Birthday James Thomas! What a first year you've had...we're looking forward to all the good stuff your second year brings!!
