On Thursday, Avery, my mom and I went to Marie Gabrielle for a "Ladies Who Lunch" date! Marie Gabrielle is a beautiful restaurant in downtown Dallas that we were supposed to have my bridesmaid luncheon at but due to Hurricane Rita and the lovely 16 hour trip from Houston to Dallas, we missed the luncheon and had to cancel. My mom has always wanted to take me there so I can see what I missed...so off we went and we had a delicious ladies lunch:)

Dallas Part III
We had an awesome week in Dallas and we're finally home! Just to warn you ahead of time, this is the longest post ever with a bazillion pictures!!!!! But we did so many fun things and got so many cute pictures that I have to post them...and this is a small fraction of the pictures we took! You already know that we went swimming...

Marie Gabrielle has these beautiful gardens and amazing landscape with all sorts of pathways to explore! So of course we had to go check it out and take some pictures:) After lunch, we continued our ladies day...and went shopping at Northpark Mall! Only the best mall in Dallas!!!!
Oh, and in case you didn't read the earlier posts, we went swimming... a ton! Watch out Michael Phelps! Avery Shelfer will beat your 8 gold medals in one Olympics.
Avery had many opportunities to practice her table manners! We ate out several times and she was able to sit in the highchair and eat her puffs at the table like a big girl. Being 7 months old (almost) is so much cooler than being a little baby, stuck in the infant carrier!
Just to reiterate...we're just starting out at the table, so the table manners aren't quite there yet! I told her that we chew with our mouth closed, but she didn't really understand me I guess.
On Friday, we went over to see our cousins. Mark's cousin Kari and her family live in Coppell which is only about 20 minutes from my parents house. We try to go visit them every time we come into town, so of course we went this time. Rylie was so sweet with Avery and showed her all the fun toys they have. And Rylie is a new big sister...sweet Brandon is almost 3 months old. This is the only picture I took because my camera battery died while I was there. And Brandon was eating...next time we'll get one with everybody!
And did I mention that we went swimming??? Do you know how excited I am that my child loves the water?!?!
This heat has been AWFUL and we could only stay out in the sun for short period of time. So we'd take swim breaks and hang out in the shade. Of course, Avery liked to hang out with her Gramps...
...and her daddy! Mark came up Friday afternoon and Avery was so proud to show him all her swimming skills.
And she had to show him how cool her ladybug float was too! She liked the float for about 5 minutes and then would fuss until we took her out and swam around while holding her.
