Big Girl Room

Since we've had what I would call a successful 48 hours of big girl bed, I decided to go ahead and post these pictures in hopes that I don't jinx us! We spent Sunday afternoon taking down all things baby in exchange for all things big girl! I was pretty sad about it, knowing that my baby wouldn't sleep in her crib ever again. But knowing that we'll be pulling it back out in a few short months made it a little easier. So here are the pictures of Avery's new big girl room that has been a long time in the making...
I have to toot my own horn and say that I have spent no more than $250 on this transformation. Of course, we spent money repainting her room. I got a heck of a deal on the headboard that came from Target. I did splurge and bought the adorable set of pictures from Pottery Barn Kids. And I had fallen in love with an old quilt set from PBK called Betsy Doll. They no longer sell it, I couldn't find it on ebay and I just had to have it. Then I found a knock off version on Amazon for a fraction of the price and I couldn't love it more! It has sweet little girls on it that Avery likes to call mommy, Avery and Aunt Mere Mere (Mere's the blonde one and I'm somehow the red head doll???). She has a sweet little reading nook set up at the end of the bed, right across from her bookshelf. I really haven't changed much to the set up of the room. The only thing the room still needs is a bed skirt obviously and a dresser, since we took the changing table out for the new nursery.I agonized over which kitchen Santa should bring Avery for Christmas, and this one fits perfectly in her new room. The colors match exactly and it makes her room so girly and fun! This was Avery's first night in her big girl bed reading with Daddy...she has done amazing! I somehow knew she would be great. She hasn't gotten down once, took an awesome nap in the bed yesterday and so far really seems to love the new set up. I'm so proud of my big girl!
Next up...getting rid of the paci and then potty training. Just when you're used to and comfortable with one thing, something has to change. Ah, the joys of parenting:)
